Sydney Lanier

After School & Camp DIRECTOR

Sydney loves working with children of all ages and has been with the Funplex since January 2010. In the past she has worked as a long-term substitute teacher for regular education, special education, and as a school nurse. She has also worked as an assistant daycare director, a paraprofessional for special needs, as a lead and assistant preschool teacher, a lead infant-room teacher, a tutor, and as a cheerleading and gymnastics instructor. Her experience has taught her the value of humor in teaching, as well as the importance of always remaining open to learning and to the constant treasure of life seen through the eyes of a child. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music, reading non-fiction, spending time with her family, and enjoying Pensacola's beaches and local festivals.

Brie Byers

ASAP Counselor

Brie is a graduate from Gulf Breeze High School and currently lives in Gulf Breeze. She has been with the Funplex since the winter of 2011.  She says she has the most amazing job in the world!  Outside of the Funplex, Brie does cheerleading and loves every minute of it!  If one were to describe Brie, they would say that she is a very bubbly person, loves to smile and is a great listener!

Parker Mozingo

ASAP COunselor

Parker has been with us since Summer 2011, where she started as a camp counselor.  She did a great job this summer and has continued with us in After School!  Parker's experience includes coaching cheerleading and babysitting.  Parker is currently attending Tate High School as a Senior.  When she graduates she plans to attend college and become a Physical Therapist.

Megan Schmieder

ASAP Counselor

Megan was born and raised in the Midwest.  She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Truman State University in 2006 and her Master's Degree in Teaching from Lindenwood in 2010.  Megan spent five years as a tutor, mostly for high school math students.  She married her husband Scott in July 2011, and they moved to Pensacola with their French Bulldog, Harley, two months later.

Savannah Whigham

ASAP Counselor

Savannah has been a great asset to our program since April 2011.  She has always loved being around children and started babysitting at the age of 12! Savannah is planning on attending PSC and later transferring to UCF to study Event Planning.

Aaron Shinstine

The P.i.t. Counselor

Aaron Shinstine is the P.I.T. Counselor at the Funplex.  Aaron has been a professional stuntman/ stunt performer in the movie business for years.  He has performed in films such as: Hoot, The Green Lantern, and Transformers 3.  He also coordinates "Stuntman" birthday parties and coaches "Stuntman" classes at the Funplex.  Aaron is currently working towards a degree in Exercise Science at the University of West Florida.
